Low carb, sugar, gluten and dairy free - how perfect is that? Sure you can buy store bought almond milk but if you are like me and use it to make protein shakes or smoothies at least once a day the cost can add up quickly.
Why not make your own at home?
This recipe makes 4 cups of almond milk and it is rather simple and straight forward.
RECIPE:
1 CUP blanched almonds (soaked overnight in water)
4 CUPS cold water
Liquid Stevia or pure vanilla extract (optional and add based on your preference)
MAKE IT
ADD soaked almonds to blender
ADD cold water to blender
ADD stevia and/or extract if desired
PUREE on high speed until well blended
STRAIN through a cheese cloth into a large bowl
TRANSER to pourable, sealable container
STORE in refrigerator
USE within 7 days
Really? I never thought you could do this. I will have to try it. I am new to Almond Milk and I am loving it!
